Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “As an active portion of one stupendous whole, goodness identifies man with universal good. Thus may each member of this church rise above the oft-repeated inquiry, What am I? to the scientific response: I am able to impart truth, health, and happiness, and this is my rock of salvation and my reason for existing” (My. 165:16).
Our churches exist to take a stand for the fact that the “still, small voice” of Truth is guiding, comforting, nurturing, and caring for everyone. We can bear witness to, and help the community see, the power of divine Love to remove fear and restore confidence and hope.
Our churches exist to be a healing presence in our communities, bearing witness to the healing power of Principle to break through suffering and sickness.
Our churches exist to bear witness to the fact that divine Love, as the source of joy, connection, and affection, is nurturing all who may feel lonely or isolated. We are called to continue our work, “…fulfilling the law of Love, doing good to all; imparting, so far as we reflect them, Truth, Life, and Love to all within the radius of our atmosphere of thought” (Mis. 12:28).
